DAJLIEN is a collection of smart, multi-functional training products for the home. Whether you're warming up, working out or staying in, the collection is about activating life. Your movement, on your terms.

Training isn't everything, but everything can be training. DAJLIEN is a collection of 19 smart, multi-functional training products designed by Akanksha Deo, Sarah Fager, Maja Ganszyniec and Paulin Machado. It's been developed to make it easier to exercise wherever and whenever you like, helping to make a bit of activity possible every day. This is reflected in the collection name: DAJLIEN, a take on the Swedish word for “daily”, Småland-style.

Behind the design

Movement is an important part of everyday life, but issues such as air quality, accessibility, and lack of space can make exercise a challenge. But few things can be more challenging than a pandemic. The DAJLIEN collection was developed during lockdown, with movement and training heavily restricted. 

For Akanksha Deo, who spent months confined to her parents' home in India, frustration led to inspiration. “I discovered a profound connection to movement within the confines of my parents’ home. Those eight months were more than a routine; they were a lifeline, a choice that became vital for my positivity and mental wellbeing,” she recalls. 

Although the four designers brought a unique point of view to the project, they were all aligned in the goal of DAJLIEN: to create an adaptable, affordable collection of versatile pieces that could be used throughout the home in different ways – and all with a stylish, contemporary aesthetic.

"I’m good at finding excuses not to exercise, but when I do practice, I always feel rewarded afterwards – so anything that supports movement in my own home is something I really appreciate.”

75% motivation, 25% perspiration

You don’t need to join a gym – sweating it out among strangers – to get fit, and you don’t need lots of extra room to create your own home gym. The DAJLIEN collection is part training gear, part storage, so it fits as seamlessly into your home as it does into your routine. 

"With DAJLIEN, we wanted to create smart, beautiful products to inspire and redefine training as a fun, easy and natural everyday activity," says Sarah Fager. "We wanted to contribute to the democratisation and accessibility of training, ensuring that even a bit of activity is within reach for everyone, every day. DAJLIEN helps bridge the gap between home and active life, so you can train wherever you’d like," adds Akanksha Deo.

Gearing up, working out, winding down

The collection focuses on stages of training: motivation, exercise, and recovery. A sleek valet stand and trolley keep training gear looking tidy and inviting, making it easy to just grab everything for a quick workout when the mood hits. A step-up-board is just right for raising the pulse and a bench for sit-ups can also be filled with everything from weights and training bands to books and magazines. Wearable pieces that are easy to pack are included because every moment, home or away, can be a potential workout opportunity. Then when you’re done, soft towels, cosy ponchos and slippers await. Great job!
