How assembly service works
IKEA has partnered with professional service partners in areas across Australia to carry out assembly.
- You can book assembly in-store or online by selecting 'Assembly' at the checkout and ticking the products you wish to have assembled.
- Select the date and time that work for you.
- One of our assembly service partners will contact you to confirm the details. Please ensure your contact details are correct when booking.
- The time window you have selected estimates arrival time only. The assembly may take longer than the window depending on the size of the job.
- Save your documents and any spare parts (just in case).
- Enjoy your furniture.
Good-to-know basics
-
The service includes professional assembly according to the IKEA product instructions. If the instructions advise the product needs to be attached to the wall for safety reasons, our assembly partners must attach the product to the wall.
-
Ensure the packages are in the room where you want the finished product. Leave your to-be-assembled products in the original packaging.
-
The service assumes a clear and levelled space for assembly to take place. Enough space is required for the packages to lie flat, leaving an additional 50 cm clearance around it.
-
Check that all assembly products are on site and the boxes are in good condition. Report any deviations to IKEA.
-
If your product is part of a designed solution, ensure you have the plans available.
-
We offer a package removal service, secured at the time of payment in conjunction with an Assembly service. When requested our certified service providers will remove the packaging. This service is available for an additional fee.
-
If needed you can request additional services such as removing skirting boards/cornices, adding structures for wall mounting, cutting holes to allow cabling and levelling floors. Additional costs will apply, paid directly to the service provider.
-
The service provider will not perform any electrical work, install ceiling-mounted lighting or install blinds/curtain rods.
-
The service provider will not modify any IKEA products, except for cutting holes in certain products to allow for wiring and cables.
